Pear Tree Poultry are here to help where we can, by providing experience, good quality housing, feed, bedding and accessories, and not forgetting the hens.

Poultry keeping has become one of the UK's fastest growing hobbies. You need no previous experience to start the hobby, although there are some very good books on the market. There are also some breeders, like ourselves, who offer basic introductory courses at very reasonable prices for those keen to experience a 'hands-on' review before committing fully or even just to enhance their existing knowledge. You will find the hobby very rewarding, not just the eggs, and probably one which you will find quite addictive. Each hen seems to have its own character. You will soon find yourself spending many enjoyable hours just watching them and feeling completely relaxed, particularly after a stressful day at work.

We sell both Hybrid and Pure Breed hens. The hybrid hens are usually available throughout the year ( see Hybrid Hens tab). We also have a number of pure breed flocks in Large Fowl and Bantam sizes from which we sometimes have both eggs and birds for sale (see Pure Breeds tab and Hatching Eggs tab). The main breeding time for pure breeds is spring through summer.  We sell chicks through to POL (Point of Lay) hens. We stock all associated poultry products in our farm shop (layer pellets, corn, woodshavings, feeders, drinkers, vitamin, anti-mite and louse, etc etc... see Feed, Bedding & Accessories tab). We offer a holiday home service to look after your hens whilst you go on vacation (see Holiday Homes). We offer an incubation and hatching service, which has been very popular with schools (see Contact Us tab). However, what we offer most of all is our friendly advice, personal experience and enthusiasm for the hens, which we believe makes us different from all the other poultry breeders.
