Poultry
You can mix all the Hybrid breeds and even add some rare breeds to create your very own flock. Whilst some breeds are more ‘flighty’ than others, it is generally accepted that hens will mix well together.
Most beginners opt for the Hybrids, which will give them more eggs, and a few rare breeds just to add some ‘wow’ factor to the flock. Most novices to Poultry keeping are genuinely surprised at the number of breeds available. The temptation is to want one of each. It is advisable, if possible, to resist this urge and focus on one or two rare breeds. Remember in the world of hens, size does matter, and smaller pullets may find themselves lower down the pecking order than the some of the larger breeds.
